One of Harlem Swings core missions is to introduce young people to Lindy Hop through accessible dance education programs. Our youth programs bring experienced instructors into New York schools and community centers where students can learn about the rich cultural history of music and dance from the Harlem Renaissance.
Students in our programs learn the fundamentals of these jazz dances in a welcoming environment. Classes focus on rhythm, partnership, creativity, and confidence while also teaching students about the dance’s Harlem roots.
